Your Source for 3D Animation Assets!
Broken Arrow Software was founded in 1993 and began as a developer for Bulletin Board System "Doors". Doors are external programs that could be shelled to from the host BBS. We created games and utilities for the TriBBS application which happened to be created by a developer located several miles from us at the time. Our best seller was a game called The Time Gambler. This game now resides in the Internet Archive's Vintage Software Collection. It is a DOS-based game that allowed the user to win or lose from the daily time limit that most BBS's alloted their users.
Over the years we have dabbled in a variety of products including database, website design, video & audio, and most recently - game development. It became quickly apparent that game development in today's age, was going to require more than the single developer that created those games from over 30 years ago! So, a decision was made to concentrate on one of the most important of the thousands of assets required for today's games... animations and poses. We already had many years of working with video and Motion Capture Technology (MOCAP) is purely based on video.
This cutting-edge technology involves tracking and recording the movements of actors or objects through strategically placed sensors or markers. As performers engage in various actions within a controlled environment, specialized cameras capture their every nuance and gesture. The captured data is then processed and mapped onto 3D models, providing animators with a foundation for creating highly realistic and nuanced character animations. Mocap technology not only expedites the animation process but also enhances the authenticity of movements, enabling characters to exhibit a level of detail and fluidity that is challenging to achieve through traditional keyframe animation. The result is a visually compelling and emotionally resonant cinematic experience, where characters move and emote with a level of realism that blurs the line between the virtual and the tangible.
